Summary statement

This position is to uphold the company quality management program, which includes assisting in the following activities: handling of return merchandise authorizations, maintaining the engineering change order list, performing and analysing audits, ensuring product compliance, developing corrective actions based on defined problems and developing procedures to improve quality.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain the engineering change order list and follow-up associated actions.
  • Complete supplier surveys, self-audits and regulation compliance documentation.
  • Respond to customer return requests and launch corrective actions accordingly.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of quality system and production procedures by ensuring that they meet quality standards.
  • Conduct internal audits as required by management, prepare reports and assist in defining corrective actions for any deficiencies.
  • Work with managers and other engineers on root cause analysis and determining corrective actions arising from customer defined problems.
  • Create preventative and corrective action reports and follow-up on implementation.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Quality Manager.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • College level diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of industrial experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance.
  • In depth knowledge of MS Office applications Word/Excel/Powerpoint.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think analytically while problem solving with great attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work with others and influence their actions.
  • Understanding of industry related quality best practices.
  • Knowledge of MS Visio and flowchart basics is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standard would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of photonics or optical thin films would be an advantage.

Type of Supervision Received

Works independently to prioritize and complete assigned tasks. Assignments are periodically checked for progress by the Quality Manager. Performance will be periodically evaluated by the management team.
